We've been coming to Beech Mountain Lake for over 15 years and we've always had a great experience staying at the condos in Quail Hollow. The only reason that I didn't give this review 5 stars is that the condos are due for some moderate upgrades, but otherwise, we really enjoy coming here and we would certainly recommend them to anyone. Very clean, safe area, and the lake and woods are simply peaceful and beautiful.
This is a very old-fashioned cabin with strict rules on how to manage the cabin while you're there such as keeping the temperature at 65 degrees and making sure you turn the lights off outside every night. The main issue for me was the lack of soap available (two thin bars per bathroom and nothing else) - if you wanted more, you'd have to purchase. They had great towels but if they got dirty, you had to drive down to the main area to get new ones. While this place was cozy (despite its creaky floors and tiny twin beds) I would imagine it's better to visit during the summer when it is easier to enjoy the outdoors.
Quail Hollow Village at Crown Resort at the Poconos is beautifully set on Beech Mountain Lakes. We rented a 2 story villa with 2 parking pads, full kitchen/dining area overlooking the lake, living room with sofa, big comfy arm chair and a very comfy recliner. Fireplace and slider out to deck. 3/4 bath downstairs. 2 very large bedrooms each with a slider onto large balcony overlooking lake and full bath upstairs. Cathedral ceilings in bedrooms. Warming lights in bathrooms. Plenty of hot water.. Picnic table and grill lakeside also. Beautiful view. Very quiet. Geese, ducks and even a swan on lake! Clubhouse on lake has party boats, canoes, tennis courts, indoor heated pool and locker rooms, other activities in warmer weather. Plus Clubhouse has adjacent restaurant! Really want to come back in warmer weather. We were here 12/02-12/09. Beautiful Christmas lights all through neighborhood driving to Quail Village. Walmart and mall 5-6 miles away.
Great peaceful place on lake or bay side - not crowded or very touristy place that makes it better and peaceful. Pros: House not hotel room is big, plenty of room,( 2 bd, full kitchen, decks upstairs and down, access to lake) Close private small beach area for family or getting sun , indoor pool decent size. Lake views and access (boat, canoe, rafts) welcomed. Cons: could use touching up - paint, maintenance, extra tv in bedroom not just 1 bedroom, parking lot should be paved and drainage issue, screens on doors etc. all minor issues
